• There are different ways to approach this essay:
o You could compare and contrast a topic from the recent past with today, or you could examine how a topic from the last 60 years of U.S. History has evolved to the present, or you could just write about a topic that interests you and that you want to learn more about.
o While there are a number of subject areas one can choose from for this essay, the obvious ones could deal with a topic that is focused along the lines of either political, geo-political, social, economic or cultural history (just one area of history is good, but you can choose multiple).
• As always, be sure to highlight four to five specific examples about your topic in the historical analysis.
