Generally, this includes meetings with the teacher to discuss and co-author the plan together. For this assignment, though, you will only focus on writing an improvement plan for a teacher profile provided.

Review the teacher profiles provided and select a teacher whose instruction would benefit from an improvement plan that includes a professional development session. You may want to choose one from the level of education you currently teach; however, it is not required that you do so.

Middle School Teacher Profiles (in uploaded files)

Write a 700- word improvement plan in which you:

Identify the specific areas in need of improvement.
Identify action steps to achieve improvement in these areas, to include:
Resources and/or support systems
An appropriate professional development opportunity in your district, state, or online that aligns with the teachers needs
Timeline and progress check-ins
Identify how the improvement will be measured.
Create a follow-up plan supporting this teacher in implementing the skills learned at the professional development session.

Consider the following questions as you develop your plan:

How might collaborative teaching practices be used in addition to this professional development session to help this teacher?
How might you assist this teacher in evaluating his or her own performance?
