Theory and Theorist Paper
This assignment takes a deeper look at one of the suggested theories and theorists posted below.
You are choosing the theorist and their theory because you think their theory best explains inequality in the United States.
Instructions:
A separate title page and at least three (3) full pages of double-spaced text
One separate page for APA/MLA/ASA formatted references/works cited
Consistent and correct in-text citations
references indicate the sources you choose; in-text citations indicate where you placed information from those sources within the assignment.
Format in-text citations as per the formatting style you choose (APA, ASA, MLA).
In-text citations must appear anytime any information is used from a source whether that information is paraphrased or quoted.
At least one primary source (primary= written by the theorist)
At least two secondary sources (secondary= written by scholars who have analyzed or applied the theories of your theorist)
Use the library database or Google Scholar
Secondary sources must be peer-reviewed academic sources
Correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation
Use the editing resources already embedded in the program you are using such as Spelling & Grammar in MS Word under the Review tab etc.
The following questions/prompts must be addressed in the essay format (with an introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion):
Who is your theorist?
What attracted you to this theorist and their theory?
How does their theory explain inequality and stratification in society?
What is your theorists main stance or perspective on the issue?
What does this theorist explain well?
What does this theorist not cover or explain well? What are some limitations of this theorist and their theory? You must choose at least one limitation.
Does this theorists theory apply to current inequalities and stratification in the United States? (You may still use this theorist and theory if you answer no). Why/why not?
Do not confine yourself to just the above writing prompts. Add any information to flesh out your theorist and theory.
