Following the instructions in your syllabus, formulate a well-written, clearly articulated response to the following question. You should provide a comprehensive discussion of the three theories, their strengths and their weaknesses. Make sure your paper demonstrates your understanding of the assigned readings This means using quotes (cited using article author’s name – not Viotti & Kauppi) from the articles to bolster you points. Your paper will be evaluated according to your substantive argument, logical consistency and coherence, writing style, and grammar.
Given the range of possible responses to terrorism, compare and contrast the prospective policy recommendations that realism, liberalism/pluralism, and structuralism/Marxism would provide towards solving the problem of terrorism (in general). (note: Given the space constraints, one or two recommendations per school of thought will suffice. An effective answer will include the both reasons behind the recommendations as well as their advantages and disadvantages). Finally, discuss elements of EACH of the three approaches that are apparent in the current U.S. response to terrorism.
Remember: these are not meant to be real-world recommendations, but to show your knowledge of the theories.
This should be a 6-8 page paper not counting the works cited page and any title page. Students should use Times New Roman 12 Point font. In text citations are a mandatory component. The student may choose the citation method of their choice (MLA, APA, etc). No outside researcixch is necessary, but always welcome.
