Over the last few weeks, we have examined some of the primary causes for war and peace. Drawing from this literature, provide a reasoned, scholarly assessment of the chances for a lasting international peace in the current global system. Specifically, assess aspects of the current global system that are particularly conducive to constructing a lasting peace. Finally, what is your primary area of concern within the international system?
This should be a 6-8 page paper not counting the works cited page and any title page. Students should use Times New Roman 12 Point font. In text citations are a mandatory component. The student may choose the citation method of their choice (MLA, APA, etc). No outside research is necessary, but always welcome.
(NOTE: This assignment does require some familiarity with current affairs — i.e. you should know that terrorism is a threat, nuclear weapons are proliferating, be familiar with unresolved conflicts such as Taiwan, Israel-Palestine, Kashmir, etc. However, what I’m looking for is the ability to successfully integrate the course readings to provide insights into the deeper significancixce of these global issues).
