Research Paper Outline

For this assignment, you will complete an outline template to help you with your final paper.

This assignment has two parts:

Part 1: Complete each section of the Outline Template. Download Outline Template.

Part 2: Write your first draft of your introduction. This part of the assignment can be found at the bottom of the outline template.

When completing this outline, make sure you are writing in complete sentences. This will help you when it comes time to write your first draft. Below is a brief summary of what you will be working on and how it relates to your final paper.

Introduction:

The introduction provides the opportunity to grab the readers attention by describing the importance of your topic. Why should the reader take the time to read your full paper? Why is your topic so important and how is it relevant? This is also the place where you will provide a brief overview of what will be covered in your paper. You dont have to go into detail…just give them a sneak peak of the main topics that will be covered. You will cover each topic in detail in the body of the paper.

Topics:

In these sections, you will address each of the required topics as outlined in the final assignment requirements. You want to make sure you are clearly introducing the topic, as well as using your resources to support your own statements and ideas. Make sure you are using transition sentences to smoothly shift from one topic to the next.

Conclusion:

Your conclusion will summarize the content that you covered throughout the body of your paper.

References:

Using APA formatting, you will list all of the references you used throughout your paper.
