My Work:
I believe abortion should be legal, because it would allow women better opportunities to anatomical rights, happiness, and well-being, as well as the status and value of human life.
Relativism, egoism, and ethics of care.
relativism: moral decisions depend on surrounding circumstances; this might not be the right time to have a child. Being forced to carry out a pregnancy would negatively impact the mother’s life. egoism: morals based on self-interest. Legal abortion would allow a woman the choice to do what’s best for her/what she wants to do. ethics of care: care based on moral concerns; to keep relationships that benefit us and to terminate those that don’t.
Access to abortion improves women’s economic, social, and emotional well being. Being allowed the choice is a relative and egoistic approach. Happier, less stressed, and in her best interests.
Legal abortion promotes “life is disposable” culture. Abortion is unethical and an act of murder.
Statistically speaking, access to legal abortions has a safer outcome for women. Abortion could benefit the economy and the healthcare system. Foster care could not be overwhelmed. Illegal abortion is justified as an inhuman action, and have repercussions. Illegal abortions would pressure and put fear into women which is not an equal feeling for males.
