Tommy Tenant was looking for a place to live. Larry Landlord owned a two-story home, with the second story available to rent.
Tommy and Larry signed a one-year lease, beginning May 1st of 2012. Tommy paid Larry first months rent of $800, last months rent of $900, a security deposit of $900 and a $50 pet fee.
Upon moving in, Tommy discovered that the water in her shower became very hot if the first floor tenant ran water downstairs. When Tommy complained to Larry about the shower and asked him to make repairs, Larry refused, saying, Ill just tell them not to run the water when you are in the shower.
The first floor tenant soon adopted a new diet featuring strong-smelling cheese. Tommy told Larry that the smell of the cheese annoyed and nauseated her. Larry replied: Too bad; thats their diet. After constantly smelling the cheese for three weeks, Tommy decided to move out and did so on July 1st, 2012.
