The first source is your textbook itself. You will select ONE PSYCHOLOGY concept/topic from your textbook to focus on in
your paper. Please note, the different perspectives in psychology (e.g., behavioral, humanistic, psychoanalytical,
neuropsychological, etc.,) are not concepts/topics. You need to be more specific.
The second and third sources are articles from a referred (peer-reviewed) journal (preferably published within the last
five years) which addresses the psychological concept or topic relevant to your intended career. You will want to find
articles that are research (data-driven) based and that use the experimental or correlational method. The articles must
have the traditional sections associated with a research study (abstract, introduction (literature review), methods,
results, discussion, and references). That means no reviews of literature or other types of articles. These articles must be
complete articles, not just the abstract of an article I will not be asking for copies of the articles, but you must be
prepared to provide them if I have questions while I am reading your paper. As you are looking for peer-reviewed
journal articles, be aware you may not find one that is specific to your career choice. You may need to use one that
exemplifies research related to the concept and then explain how that applies to your career.
In discussing information from your text, you must reference the appropriate chapter and specific page numbers,
identify and define, and explain the relevant concept. Furthermore, you will need to explain why the psychological
concept you focus on is or will be relevant to your career. You will be expected to use specific examples of how the
concept will be relevant to your career. Merely saying a concept is important is not sufficient.
For the journal article, you will be integrating the articles and their content into your paper to highlight their significance
to your chosen field of study rather than merely citing them. You will be using the journal articles to discuss their
relationship to the concept or topic you have selected as important to your career. Note that you will be discussing the
article and the implication of its findings for your career in some detail, not merely mentioning it in passing.The Introduction to Psychology paper will require critical thinking skills and your writing ability to address a question of
primary importance:
