6a. Choose 4 different writing genres (example: fairy tales, 1st person narratives, how-to books, persuasive writing etc.) and choose 4 picture books or book excerpts in this genre that you could use as a read-aloud when teaching each writing genre. Explain why you feel each text would help to better the childrens understanding of this writing genre. How will it help to provide writing ideas for struggling writers? Be sure to name the title and author of the book.
6b. In the resources choose a text (Amazing Grace by Mary Hoffman) from the culturally responsive read-aloud list that correlates with the writing genre you would like your students to focus on. Describe questions and discussions you would ask throughout the text that promote a critically conscious classroom. What strategies would you implement to define this texts genre so that students are able to understand how to write their own writing piece using this texts genre.
7. Think about some of your students’ writing needs. What part of the writing process do your students struggle with? Use this information to create 1 original (not found) writing resource that your students could independently refer to when completing a writing assignment. Explain why you choose to create this resource, and how it will help your students become more independent as a writer.
8 A. After researching the websites below choose 4 writing organizers that you feel would help your students with a particular writing topic that you cover in your class. Attach the organizers to your assignment along with an essay explaining why you think the organizers will help organize your childrens writing before they start a writing piece.
