The purpose of this assignment is to explore the different books available for children and determine their usefulness in terms of messages being taught in a Vygotskonian manner.
You will review and analyze age-appropriate children’s books and analyze how the books support children’s cognitive and socio-emotional development
Choose 4 picture books for children 3-5 years old
Try to find books that even before you read them you might think they are great books
Please do not go on Amazon and read reviews. If you do not have access in your own home then go to a library. Books are available online from libraries.
Do not choose books where the characters are animals, shapes, etc. Only choose books where people are the main characters.
For each book:
Bibliographic information (title, author(s), illustrator, date of publication, publisher, ISBN number) for each book.
Brief summary of each book. One paragraph per book.
Complete description of main characters for each book.
