The world rushed into California during the gold rush years and California was the planet’s most internationalized, ethnically diverse place. Immigrants came from Latin America, Europe, and Asia to seek their fortune; most stayed to help build California. California is right to remember this and encourage new immigrants from around the world to settle in California. They built California the first time and they will do much to continue California’s growth today.
