Descartes believed that we cannot rely on sensory perception as a foundation for knowledge. In order to justify reliance on sensory perception, John Locke and George Berkeley devised very different theoretical models to explain why we CAN rely on it.

For this short essay, CHOOSE the empiricist philosopher (either Locke or Berkeley) whose theory most interests you.
