Business model

this is the Business Canvas exercise. Use the business concept that you just completed and fill out the appropriate information in the Canvas format.

If you did not come up with an innovative idea, please consider a problem that you would like to solve (as a recommendation for inspiration) and then dream up a solution that you can create a company around for solving the problem. This can be a problem that you have on a daily basis, one that occurs to you at work or just something that you are interested in. Then consider what would be needed (as best as you can) to commercialize that idea. Capture these commercialization criteria on the business canvas model and try to complete each section. You can try using the editable business canvas attached below or just create the categories in Word or Excel and filling the key areas in–but be clear, concise and thorough. Also remember that this business idea will be the one that you use for our in-class pitch competition and the business concept that you will draft the business plan around for your formal business plan paper.

If your previous business idea is to open a diner or a bar, you need to drop that idea and be more creative. I am happy to field questions or concepts prior to class next week when the business canvas is due.
