Assignment Question

For this assignment you will create an activity plan for one week for a preschool classroom using a theme-based approach. The theme and activities MUST be developmentally appropriate and encourage active exploration of materials and ideas. DO NOT USE A HOLIDAY AS A THEME! There is a weekly planning form attached to this assignment that you are to use. It is the same one on the NC Division of Child Development website. Your weekly plan should include: Developmentally appropriate theme Include whole group and small group activities related to the theme for each day. A variety of developmentally appropriate activities related to the theme Resources and materials that will be used. For example, a set of large teeth and a toothbrush for a dental health theme. Resources can also be books related to the theme. Do not include on your plan-read a book about farm animals.

For any book listed on your plan, you must include the title and author. Three Goals- Goals are what you want the children to learn. These will be listed on a separate sheet of paper. For example, the children will be able to identify the parts of a book. Four learning objectives related to the theme. Objectives are knowledge and skills you want the children to know or exhibit after being taught a lesson. These will be listed on a separate sheet of paper. For example, the children will be able to point to and label the parts of a book. Identify four to five vocabulary words you want the children to know about the theme and include the definition of each word.
