Use Unit 4’s prewriting and resources as a guide. The analysis should be approximately 1000- 1500 words long, or 4-6 pages. Assume your audience has not read/ heard the speech and needs a clear, accurate sense of its main ideas. You should take a few sentences and summarize the article in the beginning of your essay.

You will be evaluated on the following criteria: The presentation of the text’s original ideas expressed accurately and objectively. A clear presentation of your ideas. A clear sense of connection between author or speaker’s ideas and your own. Your ability to logically support ideas using text. A logical organization and development of ideas. Readable grammar and sentence structure. A clear execution of the assignment (i.e. are you writing a rhetorical analysis? do you clearly understand rhetorical devices, are you evaluating the effectiveness of the author or speaker’s argument [how they make their points] and NOT analyzing what they are talking about?
