My dissertation chapters 1-3 were completed in full and submitted for approval. My professor returned my manuscript and suggested I broaden by study because I can not study a specific subgroup of subjects. I need to revise my submitted chapters to reflect this feedback. Not all pages need to be rewritten. Some pages require a change in wording others need to be completely rewritten. Most of my literature consists of factors that may affect all students academic achievement but some of it is specific to economically disadvantaged students. These will need to be revisited. Socioeconomic status will still remain a subtopic in the literature review but from my professors feedback other topics will also need to be explored. Furthermore, my chapter three will also need to be revised to reflect interview questions and literature that do not narrow down the research to solely economically disadvantaged students. It is important to note that my research site has a population of 97% eco-dis students so the rewrite is not omitting the student demographics but instead broadening the factors that impact all student scores and proposed solutions to the problem. I have included the template, feedback from my professor, and completed manuscript. The second revision my chapter 3 will need is removing students from the study. It was recommended that I omit students from the study. With this being said, I will be changing the student survey to a teacher survey because this data collection method would need to remain quantitative. The survey questions will need to be revised to reflect this change. Each question in all three data collection methods must be supported by scholarly literature as already shown. Most of the questions and literature are broad but some of the supporting literature is specific to economically disadvantaged students. These will need to be rewritten. In total there are no more than 25 pages that need to be rewritten (not in chronological order).
