Write an evaluation argument in which you make a judgment about a subject (a movie, television show, book, piece of music or art, restaurant, coffee shop, social media site, a product, for example) according to particular criteria, supporting your judgment with reasons and evidence.

Prompt: Write an evaluation argument in which you make a judgment about a subject (a movie, television show, book, piece of music or art, restaurant, coffee shop, social media site, a product, for example) according to particular criteria, supporting your judgment with reasons and evidence.

Getting Started: As you are planning your evaluation, determine clear criteria which will serve as the basis of your judgment of your subjects worth, value, or effectiveness. You need to demonstrate that you know your subject very well and that you have researched what other credible sources say about your subject. Be sure that your evaluation is fair; a fair evaluation may acknowledge both strengths and weaknesses of your subject. Do, though, argue for your judgment, supplying effective reasons and strong evidence to support your position. You are expected to cite three outside sources in your paper, using APA style; you must provide a title page and an abstract preceding your paper and a References list at the end of your essay. Chapters 16 and 65 in NFG provide specific information about writing evaluation arguments; chapter 55 supplies information about using APA style correctly.

Requirements: Essay should be 3-4 double-spaced pages, 12 pt. Times New Roman font, 1 margins. Adhere to APA standards for basic formatting and citations.
