What do the archetypes of women in The Epic of Gilgamesh imply about Mesopotamian women at the time? What do the important women of the story do to progress the story? How are they represented? How do they interact with the characters and how do they change them?

Thesis: In The Epic of Gilgamesh, the women characters hold power over the male protagonists, and change the fate of the story more than the actions of Gilgamesh and Enkidu.
