Juvenile courts

You are a judge in Small Ville Juvenile Court. After 15 years on the bench, you are asked by the editor of a law journal to write an article about the juvenile court system. The article should contain current issues in juvenile court and assist your readers in understanding the differences between adult and juvenile court, as well as the adjudication of juvenile offenders. Be sure to address the following when preparing your research article:

Explain what occurs during the trial stage of juvenile court proceedings.
Determine if juveniles have the right to a jury trial. Why or why not?
Describe term-blended sentencing and provide examples when blend sentencing is most appropriate.
Explain the legal standard that must be met to adjudicate a young person delinquent by the juvenile court during the adjudicatory stage of the court’s proceedings.
Determine ways in which it might be possible to improve the juvenile court concept. Provide examples to support your findings and recommendations.
Support your article with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Length: 5-7 pages, not including title and reference pages

The article should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writicixng and current APA standards.
