Write short reflections on different careers related to Kinesiology.

For the past three weeks, you have been asked to write short reflections on different careers related to Kinesiology. For your final paper, you are asked to select one career (your dream career if you already have one) from the field of kinesiology and to investigate it further. Directions: Pick one career related to the field of kinesiology that interests you. Depending on your interests, you might have to narrow your focus. For instance, if you are interested in a career in sports medicine, you will have to narrow your focus to a specific career within sports medicine such as athletic trainer, clinical exercise physiologist, certified clinical exercise specialist, sport dietician, etc. Careers such as medical doctor, nurse, occupational therapist, physical therapist, physician assistant, and physical education teacher are already sufficiently focused. If you have any questions, please ask me. Research your selected career path. You will want to find out everything you can about the career that interests you. These areas may include: (a) typical responsibilities, (b) qualifications (education and certifications), (c) cost of graduate school, (d) personal skills and abilities needed to succeed, and (e) career outlook and salary ranges. During your search, you’ll want to identify at least 3 credible sources of information to create a comprehensive overview of the career path. You can use information from professional organizations (e.g., American College of Sports Medicine, American Kinesiology Association – Career Center, and American Occupational Therapy Association), government agencies (e.g., Bureau of Labor Statistics), peer-reviewed journal articles, graduate school websites, industry magazines (e.g., PT in Motion), and your textbook. Write a 6-page paper (1000 to 1100 words for the body of the paper) that includes the following components: Title page that is formatted to APA standards Introduction (1 paragraph ~ 150 words) – Introduce the career that you are interested in pursuing and indicate why. Main Ideas (3 paragraphs ~ 525 words) – Provide background information on the career you’ve selected. You are required to reference credible sources to support your ideas about your career choice. You should cite at least three sources and include at least one in each main idea paragraph. Note: If you are interested in a career that requires graduate school. I recommend looking at the following topics: qualifications (education and certifications), cost of graduate school, and career outlook and salary ranges. In your discussion, you will be able to discuss return on investment (ROI). Discussion (1 paragraph ~ 175 words) – Discuss what you need to do now to set yourself up for success. You should reflect on your current status (e.g., GPA, courses completed, and volunteer work completed) and make a realistic appraisal of your ability to attain your goals. You can also discuss ROI. Conclusion (1 paragraph ~ 150 words) References page formatted to APA standards Paper Requirements: You will need to cite any references you use in-text in the reference section at the end of your paper. At a minimum, these should include at least three sources that you used to investigate your career path. Both in-text citations and reference list must be in APA format. Paper length is very important. Your paper should be 6-pages total – title page formatted to APA standards (1 page), body of the paper (3.5 to 4 pages/1000 to 1100 words), and references page formatted to APA standards (1 page). Do not exceed 1100 words. Points will be deducted. Per APA format, your paper should: (a) be double-spaced, (b) typed with 11-to-12-point font, (c) use Calibri (11 pt), Arial (11 pt), or Times New Roman (12 pt) font, (d) have 1” margins, (e) include a RUNNING HEAD/SHORTENED TITLE, and (f) have page numbers in the upper right-hand corner of each page. Level 1 and level 2 headings should be incorporated. Citations should conform to APA formatting standards. Refer to the APA formatting documents provided throughout the semester. Grading Criteria for Final Paper: Content, including following the instructions and integration of the ideas from your credible sources, is worth 85% of your grade. APA is worth 15% of your grade. APA = 15 pts Introduction = 10 pts Main Ideas = 50 pts Discussion and Conclusion = 25 pts Note: Reusing work previously submitted is called self-plagiarism. This means you should not reuse work submitted from a previous assignment. Your Turnitin similarity score should not exceed 20%.
