Write an 8 10-page biblical interpretation paper with Psalm 2 as your text. In
the paper, you should work through Psalm 2 using the three hermeneutical
processes (preparation, investigation, application) that are discussed and espoused
in the course videos and textbook. For preparation, you should consider how your
background, upbringing, present community, gifts, experiences, predispositions,
sanctification, strengths, weaknesses, sins, etc. influence your interpretation of
Psalm 2 in both good and bad ways (please note your section on preparation
should be one page or less of your total paper). For investigation, you should
focus on the original meaning of Psalm 2 in light of the writer, document (text of
Psalm 2), and original audience. You should also consider how other places in
Scripture elaborate on and apply Psalm 2 in various ways. In your paper and for this hermeneutical process of investigation, you should consult and cite eight
secondary sources (including but not limited to commentaries on Psalms, books
on the psalms, books on the Old Testament, journal articles [the ATLA database
can be accessed through the Belhaven library website] (online sources are not
allowed). For application, you should consider the meaning of Psalm 2 for
believers and the church today. How can believers apply Psalm 2 to their lives?
How could you preach and teach Psalm 2? How might God use Psalm 2 among
those to whom you minister?
