Re-read the poem Dulce et Decorum Est. Write about the events that are described in the poem as a descriptive piece. This should include:
– The soldiers marching back from battle, wounded and exhausted
– The gas attack that burns your eyes, skin and throat
– Seeing your friends choking on the gas and trying to help them
– Putting your friends on the back of the cart to go and be treated and watching them dying
– Deciding that you have been lied to about the war.
Your work should be a DESCRIPTIVE piece of writing that tries to capture the events of the poem from either a first OR third person perspective.

You should try and use some of the language and describers from the poem (adjectives, similes, metaphors etc).

You should also include your own ambitious adjectives, at least one simile, one metaphor and one use of personification of your own.
