Write a summary on the diagnosis or diagnoses you have and include detailed details to support your position. For each of the following cases (See this File Actions ) offer a diagnosis/diagnoses along with justification using specific details of the case in your written summary. Justifications should be based on material from the readings and lecture. You must also suggest a potential treatment plan and similarly justify it based on details from the case and techniques introduced in the readings and lecture. Finally, indicate a treatment plan that you would not expect to be effective, and again justify why based on the specific cases and information from the readings and lecture. Your written summary should include: Your diagnosis (“comorbidity” is always a possibility; do not be afraid of “combination” diagnoses, but of course the best way to help a sufferer is to be as specific as possible). A brief summary of the symptoms with specific reference to the facts of the case which support your diagnosis. A brief discussion of anything about the case that makes choosing a particular diagnosis or diagnoses difficult. A proposal for at least two treatment approaches, with specific reference to at least two major theoretical treatment perspectives (Behavioral, Cognitive, Biomedical, Humanistic/Client Centered, Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic, Behavioral,Family Therapy, etc.). At least one of your approaches should be something you believe will be effective in treating the diagnosed disorder or disorders, and you must explain why, including reference to specific techniques used in that perspective and how they could apply to the specific disorder/s and symptoms (you may need more than one approach/technique depending on the disorder/s or comorbidities). You must also list a treatment approach that you believe would not be effective and explain why. Note that each treatment category may only be used up to three times as good example and up to three times as a bad example. The major focus of my evaluation of your work will be on your reasoning. Your grade will not simply be a matter of getting the “right” diagnosis – experts often disagree. Insightful and detailed argument is the key. Finally, make sure everything is in complete sentences and that grammar is understandable. Points will be subtracted if I have trouble understanding what you are saying due to poor grammar. The following rubric will be used to grade each case: Scoring Diagnosis All reasonable (3) At least one reasonable (2) None reasonable (1) None given (0) Reasoning Thoroughly explains reasoning (6) Partially explains reasoning (4) Reasoning incorrect/ completely unclear (2) Does not explain reasoning (0) Treatment All reasonable (3) At least one reasonable (2) None reasonable (1) None given (0) Reasoning Thoroughly explains reasoning (6) Partially explains reasoning (4) Reasoning incorrect/ completely unclear (2) Does not explain reasoning (0)
