Write a research report outlining the ways in which partners’ ability to collaborate effectively on upcoming projects that enhance the center’s capabilities directly relates to how people may understand the center’s mission. My mom being a nurse and my father a doctor, gave me a unique opportunity to see how their daily lives can change so drastically, but because of their skill, adapting becomes second nature. It’s knowing that you are making a difference even at the worst of times like during the COVID-19 pandemic seeing my mother on the frontlines reinvigorated my love for the field. Apart from growing up in that atmosphere, my love for the sciences was practically natural. I had an amazing teacher growing up that made complex ideas simple. That is why biology in specific, was always a pleasure to study.
One of my greatest achievements, that I’ve developed, would be mental endurance/patience and hospitality. Being in a field as demanding as this requires a mind capable of tackling any and all situations and at times those circumstances can take a toll on your person. It can span anywhere from being a good listener, communicating effectively, or more obvious critically thinking. In those moments you want a steadfast mindset to effectively handle said problems. Growing up I have had to practice this skill and learn how to recuperate/relax in order to let my mind refuel. I strongly believe that this program will allow me to apply those strengths into real world situations that will serve me well for the future.
The most recent time that I’ve worked in a team was when I was studying to become and EMT. Under those circumstances the ultimate goal is to make sure you provide the best care possible for me prehospital stand point. During one of our multi day skill sessions we I and two other individuals we are responsible for assessing a trauma patients scenario. Anybody who has been in this field knows that trauma is one of the trickiest assessments to do as there are multiple details to track and that often can change spontaneously. I remember needing to establish an oral airway to provide simulated ventilations but proved to be a bit unsuccessful my partners helped me provide a proper seal to the mask along with CPR aid that ultimately allowed the patient to be resuscitated. It was one of the truest instances of knowing that proper teamwork can lead to wonderful outcomes.

As I continuously learn and grow, hospitality, dignity, and respect are valuable traits to exercise for any situation in dealing with vulnerable individuals in need. From clinical to curbside these virtues serve to guarantee the best possible service is achieved and that a true difference is made. How people may perceive the center’s mission directly coincides with how well partners can coordinate on future projects that benefit the center capabilities. The Urban Outreach Center proactively works to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion knowledge and abilities because doing so is critical to the success of their mission. By working with them, I will to identify the health needs of those who come to the center for aid, allowing me to tie the issues back to their sources and potentially help target further issues that could arise by ensuring that all incoming volunteers can and are made aware of the changing demands of the center, ensuring that community atmosphere/service for those impacted is strong, efficient, and effective. Being a volunteer engagement coordinator at The American Red Cross will allow me to help implement new methods of public service for individuals willing to make an impactful difference. As an EMT, collaborating is a crucial step to making a difference and the more people involved in first responder capabilities, such as educating the public in critical lifesaving skills, and installing smoke detectors for at-risk populations, the more people can avoid disastrous incidents. Being a Futures and Options volunteer coordinator gives me the opportunity to help establish people with a fighting chance at a better life, encouraging them to become self sufficient and creating a path to financial freedom. the positive mental impact that I can create in this area, far exceeds what many think to be too good to be true, or not worth the time an energy, with my help, I can prove otherwise.
