Write a research essay in which you draw from chapters that we have read in
class, library articles, the Higher Education Act of 1965, the FAFSA (Free
Application for Federal Student Aid) documentation, or other sources to
investigate the costs of higher education. Your purpose is to establish and
support your own position about the cost of education. You may consider your
own situation in your essay. To accomplish this goal, you will need to incorporate
ideas and details from other sources into your own essay.
You will include citations and a Works Cited page following MLA format.
(See Rules for Writers, Part 56 page 418). A minimum of 6-8 sources are required
in your essay by paraphrasing, summarizing, and quoting information from the
articles.
To facilitate your writing and research, you will follow a writing process where you take
several steps to complete the final essay. Each of the steps in this assignment will be
evaluated.
