Write a paper on your Persuasive Speech Presentations:
The goal of this presentation is to persuade the audience to move from a negative or neutral position on a
topic to one that is more in line with your way of thinking. Moving the audience to change or action is key too
persuasive speaking.

TIME: 5 – 7 minutes.

1. Pick a topic that has a level of controversy and one, in which you believe in or have a personal stake!
2. Break the topic down into a central idea and 2-5 major points supporting that statement.
3. Speech should have a well-planned introduction, body, and conclusion (organization).
4. A minimum of FIVE sources must be cited during the speech and in the paperwork.
5. PAPERWORK REQUIRED. The paperwork includes the following:
TYPED speech in either manuscript or preparation outline form (see textbook);
Using space and a half or double- spaces;
MLA style for references with no less than FIVE references- Work Cited page.
May not be entirely from Internet; Due the day of speech.
6. Grades will be determined as follows: 1. Persuasive speech evaluation form (instructor) -50%
2. Persuasive speech evaluation form (students) -25%
3. Paperwork for speech (typed speech and work cited) -25 %
7. Visual aides are required! PowerPoint preferred or handouts (most be able to share with WebEx audience!
8. Speeches should be PERSUASIVE! A clearly stated ACTION is needed.
