A proposal is a persuasive document that sells the idea or service you are proposing. Proposals may be unsolicited or requested, internal or external.
Write a formal persuasive proposal addressing a need (or a problem) related to the field of education. This proposal should revolve around an education topic (about whats going on in education, a need on college campuses, or a major problem in public schools that needs to be solved then offer an idea, alternative or a solution). Your primary audience will be the decision makers that are in a position to address the problem you have identified. Other members of your audience will probably include other members of the community and other administrators, managers, or committee members. Keep the attitudes and interests of your entire audience in mind.
Choose ONE of the following educational proposal topics:
1. CVCC should have a childcare center on campus for students and faculty.
2. Standardized testing should be removed from all public schools (but should be replaced with another form of assessment).
3. Sex-Education in the public school systems should be reformed (offer your ideas for change)
4. School lunches need to be revamped in the public schools.
5. A Life Skills class needs to be mandatory for all high school students.
6. WPCC should have a competitive sports program (basketball, football, volleyball, baseball, etc.)
7. Metal detectors should be installed in all Catawba County Schools for safety reasons.
8. Catawba County Schools should adopt the Year Round School concept.
Include all the formal elements of the proposal outlined in the PowerPoint labeled Parts of a Proposal/Formal Report in Blackboard. Try to make your proposal as persuasive, believable, complete, and professional as possible. Your ability to demonstrate that you can write an effective proposal can only enhance your career options.
This report should contain a Title Page, Introduction Page, at least 3 FULL pages of discussion, a Conclusion Page and last a References page. This report should be in APA format. In all, this report will end up being 7 pages long. Relax! These are short pages except for the discussion section.
4-5 sources are required to support your ideas These sources need to come from NC Live OR if you find other sources online, they need to be approved by me before using (you can send them to me through email for approval we have to be sure they are valid sources).
Double space, 12 font, Times New Roman, 1 margins
AGAIN, THIS IS AN APA ESSAY. ALL SOURCES LISTED ON THE REFERENCE PAGE MUST BE CITED WITHIN THE ESSAY. ALL SOURCES CITED WITHIN THE ESSAY MUST BE CITED ON A REFERENCE PAGE.
