Write a comment on why children were (are) important in promoting certain national(ist) political ideologies, economic agendas, war effort, etc.

We focus on what was supposed to be celebrated as “the century of the child”: the twentieth century. On the one hand, we look at developing scientific approaches to studying children. On the other hand, we recognize the extremely detrimental effects on childhood development resulting from conflicts and social upheavals unseen in the earlier periods.
