Write a brief essay reflecting on your relationship to literacy and how it has evolved over the course of the semester. Do you still struggle with comma splices or fragments? Do you still have a hard time putting your ideas into words? Does the voice in this portfolio feel authentic to you? This essay is not asking you to pretend that everything is perfect now, and that you have it all figured out after taking this course. Rather, it is asking you to reflect honestly on the content in this portfolio and share with your reader: What are your strengths and weaknesses? What have you learned? What do you still hope to develop? Have any of your opinions about literacy or language changed? What moments this semester influenced your relationship to reading and writing? Did you surprise yourself with the content in your portfolio? Did you discover a rhetorical situation that matters to you? What is your relationship to reading and writing now?
Dont forget that this document is in itself a writing sample, so be sure to also proofread for grammar/syntax commensurate with college level composition.
