Write a brief essay (2-3 pages) on the poem you have selected for the oral presentation.

You will be writing a brief essay (2-3 pages) on the poem you have selected for the oral presentation.
Your essay should be divided into two sections. The first section should briefly discuss the biography of the author and introduce the poem (about 1 paragraph). The second section should provide an analysis of the theme of the poem. In other words, you are making an argument about what you think the poem means. Remember to include a clear thesis statement in your discussion.

You must cite at least two outside sources, one that focuses on the authors biography and another that focuses on the analysis of the poem; at least one of the sources needs to come from the MDC databases. (See instructions for accessing the MDC databases in a separate link.) Include in-text citations and a works cited page for these sources.

Remember to cite specific lines from the poem in your discussion. In-text citations for poetry refer to line numbers, so use line numbers in your in-text citations.

The poem of the essay that I chose is down below in the files.

Called burned by A.E. Stallings
