the last component of your research related to the Group Project on a selection from The Norton
Anthology of World Literature, Shorter 4th Edition, Vol. 1.
Write a paper to convince a reader that the piece of literature you are responsible for in the group
project is significant, worth knowing about, and worth reading some of if not all. The following
questions are not an outline, but you must answer all of them somewhere in an essay with an
introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion in your own words. Do not copy and paste from
sources. This paper will be checked for plagiarism by Turnitin.

Give your essay a title and provide a works-cited page for sources of information as the last page
of your paper. Include information from sources with citations in MLA style in the text of your
paper and include a works-cited page at the end.

Sources should be used for small amounts of summarized or paraphrased information and for
minimal quoted material. Your voice/style should predominate with your comments about cited
material. Cite all sources including group members to “give credit to who said it” and avoid
plagiarism. Use MLA Style citations by leading into the cited material with the source author’s
name. Give full identifying bibliographic information in the works-cited list at the end of the
paper, alphabetized by source author’s last name. Check the Turnitin similarity report after
turning in your paper. Your report should be between 25% to 10%. Anything over 50% is
unacceptable. It means you need to summarize and paraphrase more in your own words.
Length: 4-5 pages in double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font, plus 1 page for the
Works Cited list of sources included at the end of the paper (not a separate file). Absolutely no
less than 3 full pages and no more than 6 full pages.
