Create a fictional company and product that you develop and bring through to distribution within the realm of digital retail. You will want to spend a good long time thinking through these steps and make sure to use quality research to support each section.

Create your company name and concept. Spend a paragraph or two discussing what your company develops, why, and how your products are sold via online. What type of online marketplace do you use (General marketplace, auction, social media, subscription, classified, etc.). Why do you choose this online sales channel? Use research to support why this type of online marketplace is a good source for your company.

How will you advertise your product? Spend a good paragraph or two developing a social media campaign. How will you use social networking/social media to enhance your online product? Why are you choosing this method? What do you hope to gain from advertising on social media/ social networking sites? Use research to support your discussion through here.

Develop your supply chain system from production to distribution.
Step One identify where your product will be produced and explain why you chose this location. Use research to support your production location! (ie. Labor costs, import/export costs, political issues, etc.)

Step Two How will you transport your produced products to your warehouse? Use research to support your transportation needs. I would like to see financials in this section supported by research. (How much does it cost to ship? Or use the rail system? Or via airlines? Etc).
Step Three How will products be delivered to your customers. Here you have creative freedom. You can invent a delivery system or feel free to simply use the postal services. Think about security of the delivery of your items. Do you need drop box locations or is front door delivery sufficient? (Research here as well!)

Wrap it up! Create a conclusion that properly wraps up the entire process and emphasizes the main points of your business model. Why are customers interested in what you are selling?
