Please answer one of the following three questions:
1) What role did anti-Semitism play in the ambitions and policies of the National Socialist (Nazi) Workers Party and its policies from 1920-1938? What factors explain the shifting nature and centrality of anti-Semitism to the Nazi party over time? In your answer, please define your terms and refer to assigned primary and secondary documents, as relevant, making sure to draw directly on at least one primary and one secondary document.
2) Analyze this Nazi poster from the 1930s, discussing what it teaches us about the implementation of race science, positive and negative eugenics, and related policies under the Third Reich from 1933-1938. In your answer, please define your terms and refer to assigned primary and secondary documents, as relevant, making sure to draw directly on at least one primary and one secondary document. Please note: this question asks you to draw upon assigned readings and lectures from Week 3 of class.
(poster attached and translation below)
Text reads: The Nazi Party secures the community of people: Comrades, do you need advice and help? Turn to your local NSDAP branch.
3) To what extent was the Levy family of Salonica, the subjects of Professor Steins Family Papers, a part of the fabric of their city and state prior to the Second World War? Could they have anticipated the violence of the war, or the Holocaust? Your answer should not only refer to the book as a whole (as a secondary source) but should refer to a primary source cited/interpreted within the book for evidence. In other words, both your primary source and your secondary source should be drawn from Family Papers.
