What Retail Apocalypse? These 10 Big Chain Stores Are Growing Like Crazy in 2019

Description of Course Assignment #1 (your first short PAIRS paper assignment):

The purpose of this short paper assignment is to profile and critique a marketing strategy of one of the companies I provided below as web links. You are to identify and briefly describe the primary target market or markets, describe the marketing mix, and perform a simple SWOT analysis on either a successful company or a poorly performing company on one of the lists provided. For the “winner” state what you believe the differential advantage is and for a “loser” reveal what the problem is and how it can be saved or improved. Instructions: I suggest drawing from the companies provided below. YOU CAN CHOOSE EITHER A WINNER OR LOSER FIRM TO ANALYZE. There are several lists of firms to consider. PLEASE USE THE ATTACHED WORD DOC AS A TEMPLATE FOR THE ASSIGNMENT AND SUBMIT IT AS A WORD DOC. Make use of our Library databases to complete the assignment, such as Mergent Intellect and/or Proquest. The first database particularly provides some real good research information on the companies on my lists. Make sure you cite all your sources though.
You can work alone or in pairs! If you collaborate with a classmate on the assignment, you each must submit the same assignment with your names on each paper. Make sure you both do the work!
