What is the role of intention in establishing a trust?

I study in Britain so the English law on trusts will be law that should be used in the essay. This essay is part of my final exam in order to pass/complete the module.
My module covers key principles of the law of trusts, which are:

(1) The nature of equity and the trust

(2) The three certainties

(3) Purpose trusts

(4) Wills & Estates

(5) Resulting Trusts

(6) Constructive Trusts

(7) Breach of trust, the role of Trustees, and fiduciary obligations

This is the assignment brief :

There are 2 essay titles and you must choose ONE essay only.

1) What is a trust? Do you think the interests of a beneficiary under a trust are unjustifiably prioritised? Use English case law to support the argument(s).
OR
2) What is the role of intention in establishing a trust? Is intention appropriate in every type of trust? Use English case law to support the argument(s).

1. The word limit is 3000 words inclusive of footnotes but excluding bibliography.
2. You must include a bibliography.
3. Please follow the OSCOLA guide for all referencing.

4. You can begin conducting wider research and start to think about the arguments that you may wish to explore in order to answer one of these essay questions.

Whilst each essay title is quite broad in of itself you can select any aspect of the topics mentioned in order to interrogate and explore the essay question. The essay should have depth rather than breadth.

I have uploaded a resource list of readings and cases explored on this topic, if the writer has relevant sources they can use that is fine too. I have also included a quick reference guide on the OSCOLA referencing style that is required. Thank you!
