For example, a person cannot be both (at the same time) in favor of equal treatment to all human beings and against gay marriage. Because gay people are human beings, they must be treated as all other human beings according to the first belief. Therefore, being against marriage between gay people is inconsistent to the belief that all human beings must be treated equally.
