What Initiatives Should be Implemented to Protect Small Businesses from Economic Problems?
Where has small business owners been able to go for help over the years and when has it been most useful for them?
Starting in the late 1800s, large corporations have had lobbyist who were able to go to the government to stop small business owners from getting government funding. This caused many small businesses to go out of business. The Small Business Administration (SBA) is very underfunded making it quite difficult for small business owners to get the adequate help they need in order to stay afloat. The SBA is under underfunded because most of the money from the government goes to protect the large companies. Fit the historical aspect into the proposal. Pease go back as far as needed to fit the historical aspect. i.e the Savings and Loans crisis in the 1990s that caused many small businesses to be severely impacted. You can also go as far back as the 1930s if the historical information is relevant and can tie into my proposal.
