Prior to starting this assignment, consider the questions posed above regarding what your practice might look like in five years. Nurses’ practice from theory informed space. Assignment 1 is an opportunity to try an advanced practice nursing model ‘on for size’ and apply it to your future practice, or make the case for why the model is outdated or not useful in the context of your future practice. Consider the population you identified in your visioning exercise. Is this a vulnerable or marginalized population that does not experience health equity?
Choose a model from table 4.1 (Edge & Wilson, pp. 56-59) in the course text Canadian Perspectives in Advanced Practice Nursing. Review the advanced practice nursing competencies discussed in chapters’ six to nine in the same text. Do a literature search to explore current discussion about the model or framework and its current (or lack) of applicability to current and future advanced practice nursing.
Table 4.1 (Edge & Wilson, pp. 56-59) is attached in files.
