Revisit the Exercises section at the end of Section 14.3(https://open.lib.umn.edu/mediaandculture/chapter/14-3-news-media-and-ethics/): News Media and Ethics. For this essay, investigate the issue of political bias in the news. Choose either a television network or newspaper known for more liberal tendencies and a network or newspaper known for more conservative reporting. Then select a news story covered by both of these sources.
After examining both sources coverage of the same news story, prepare a two page, double spaced typed essay that responds to the following questions:
What differences do you notice between the two sources news coverage?
What evidence, if any, do you find of political bias? If it does exist, what effect do you think this bias has on readers?
Consider the role of the media in delivering news to the public. In your opinion, can both sources coverage still be characterized as fair and accurate? Why or why not?
Expectations for Essays are that they are:
Two pages in length minimum
Typed
12 point, Times New Roman font and your margins are 1 inch all around
Double spaced
Formatted to include your name, my name, the date, and the course code in the upper left hand corner
