Imagine:

You’ve just been given the opportunity to bring a new play to life. Dominique Morriseau has entrusted you with her new play Skeleton Crew. Give it a fresh read and imagine it in your head. Assign yourself one, all, or a combination of the various artistic jobs that can bring a play to life. What fascinates you? What do you want to dig into and write about: acting, directing, set design, sound design, costume or lighting? Or a combination?

1) Describe your production concept. What does this play mean to you and how will you bring it to life? What is the story you are telling and how do you plan to tell it?

2) What is your process? Describe the steps you will take to bring this play to life. What choices must you make?

3) How will you interact with the other designer to tell the story.

4) How do you want the audience to feel after seeing your production.

Give yourself time to read the play, time to conceive of it and time to write down in detail your process and the decisions you make. If you are choosing a visual field can you find or create images to convey your concept?
