Please follow the formatting guidelines as per APA.
Please follow APA, 7th edition formatting guidelines in how this paper will be written. Examples: page format/layout, heading levels, in text citation requirements, page title and numbering, reference list, margin, font type and size etc.
8 pages maximum excluding title page, your report (which I would have already received a copy of, through PAR, SDS). and references , double spaced, 12 font, Times. Paper should have a title page, a reference page, and Page number. The headings should follow APA, 7th Edition headings requirements. See the attached APA guide on blackboard.
Go to my Blackboard, and click on the link (Self Directed Search). Please complete the career assessment tool. It will generate a PDF report which you should keep on file (as it may come in handy in the future). The link for how to access is included on the Blackboard.
Please read the articles that are attached on Blackboard to better understand the content of the report that is generated for you.Textbook chapter 2, in particular Hollands theory. Please note that I have also included two files SDS Part 1 and Part 2, from the handbook for using self directed search to guide this part of your paper. The textbook and the files on SDS from the handbook should not be the only references you cite, but to help you understand Hollands Theory and the RIASC 3 letter code generated by SDS. Of the articles that I have supplied, please choose 2 that match your interest, background and identity. I have listed these as an example of resources that can help guide you and you are welcome to use them. However, please note that this list is not in anyway exhaustive, and does not capture the diversity of experiences, or intersection of identities. Thus, you are NOT limited to using these, but you have to use 2 references, from a peer reviewed journal that tap into your understanding of career interest, development, choices, influences, background/identities.
You need to answer the following questions, but please use own headings which should follow APA format, here is a really nice and quick link I use. https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/general_format.html

Please summarize the main features of the report, particularly as they relate to the content covered in chapter 2.
Please pay attention to the following indicators of career planning and status: congruence and personality, coherence of aspirations, vocational identity, consistency, differentiation, commonness, and professional judgment as part of SDS. There are topics covered in the textbook, Chapter 2. In addition, I have attached a detailed dissertation on SDS and career that you can survey and use as a resource, not required to use, if you dont find it relevant.
Create a list of 5 occupations that SDS generated that resonate with you. Are these the ones you have considered before? Any surprises emerging from SDSthat have got you thinking about alternative occupations?/those that you are undecided about?
How is a career important to you? What value might it add to your life? How might it affect your self-concept/self worth?
Does the 3 letter code generated in SDS for you accurately describe your career aspirations? (try using the different combination of these 3 letter codes as you make sense of the report). If yes, why, and if not, why not? Focus on skills and abilities highlighted by SDS as well as the identified RIASEC environments pertaining to your personality. The hope is for you to utilize the information gleaned from your SDS assessment in making career decisions.
Briefly comment on experiences that have helped you develop interest and skills in each of the areas that is generated by the report, or any other factors that have influenced these?
In particular, I would like you to comment on the intersection of life experiences, and or identities that you locate yourself, i.e., gender, class/SES, sexual orientation, disability, race, culture, ethnicity, etc, as they relate to how you have built and continue to build on your vocational identity. (You can choose articles on the blackboard that you may find relevant, or find 2 articles related to such exploration.
Comment on 3 different careers/jobs that you have explored already or plan to explore, based on this assessment. What do you perceive as limitations/strengths and next steps for you in terms of planning or setting goals related to these jobs/careers?
Please dont forget to include concluding remarks, and your reference page.
Best wishes.
