Research question: Pick a large city in either the global North or global South. What do the air pollution data show about whether or not air quality has improved in recent decades? If there has been an improvement, how was it achieved (e.g. what combinations of political action and technological change were involved)? What challenges remain? If air quality has not improved, what have been the key socio-economic and political obstacles? (A couple of interesting possibilities could
be Mexico City and London.)
