Chapters II or III This first essay consists of at least eight pages-content (8) type-written pages plus the Works Cited page or Bibliographical note. As stated in your outline, you should think of it as an intellectual exercise whose purpose it to assess your understanding of the subject you have chosen. Since this first assignment is about chapter two or three of your text, you need to expand the information presented by the author by doing basic research online and in the library. You will need to show a basic understanding of the historical circumstance in which the aesthetic manifestations occurred. You must state your position based on academic research not on anecdotal information. You are expected to use at least five bibliographical references in addition to the references from your book. Always ask yourself questions as you move along this process. For example, what did you learn from the readings? What is the main point the author or authors want to convey? Do you agree or disagree with what you found out? etc.
