Please craft an initial response that includes the following:

1. In her lecture, Bioethics at the Beginning of Life, Maggie Little shares the story of a moment at a conference about abortion in which a colleague stood up and asked each person to answer the following question: What are you most afraid of about people who think differently than you do about abortion? I love this question and invite you to open your response with your own answer.

2. After you’ve responded to the question above, I invite you to share three things you learned about abortion that you didn’t know before? (Be sure to cite your source!) How does this learning strengthen, support, challenge, refute, or confuse the ideas you already held about this issue?

3. In the video lectures, Dr. Little Maggie introduced four views on the moral status of early human life:
A Future Like Ours: early human life has full moral status because embryos and fetuses have a future full of human goods
Human Dignity: humans in the early stages of development have full moral status simply because they are human beings
Sentience: early human life has partial moral status because only conscious beings have any moral status and embryos and early fetuses are not conscious
Gradualism: early human life has partial moral status because moral status grows gradually along with fetal development
