Choice / Research: This assignment is for you to focus on the type of company that interests you. Think of a company that you admire and would like to work for in the future. This cannot be the company that you currently work for and you cannot interview your current boss. Look for ways to connect your research and interview with the material that we have covered from the book. The following items should be considered but they may not be applicable to every business.

What do they Produce / Service do the offer?
What form of business is it? (Sole Proprietorship, Corporation, etc.)
Business Trends (Ch 1-4)
Are they a Global business?
What economic markets to do they operate in?
What legal environments do they operate in?
What social initiatives do they have?
Business Management and Human Resources (Ch 7-12)
What is the leadership Style / Management Philosophy?
What are the companys vison and mission statements?
How is the business structured? Tall or Flat? Centralized or De-centralized?
What is the company culture?
What are the challenges of employee motivation?
What are the main human resource issues?
What are their plans for growth / expansion?
Marketing (Ch 13-16)
How do they market their product / service?
How strong of an internet presence do they have?
Are they B2C, B2B, Direct, etc.?
What is their product mix
What pricing strategies do they use?
Managing Financial Resources (Ch 17-20)
Are they a publicly traded company? What exchange? Stock Ticker?
How far forward do they develop a financial plan?
Who does their Audit?
Who is the CFO / Financial Manager?
How do the Financials look going forward?
Assignment Details: Write a 1,400 1,600 word paper detailing the information you gathered in the research and interview you completed. Consider organizing the paper as a SWOT analysis and/or as a detailed company profile.
Paper Format Guidelines: The paper should use the following guidelines:
Written and submitted in MS-Word
A college level paper between 1,400 – 1,600 written pages, with any San Serif, 12 point Font (i.e. Tahoma, Calibri)
