Poverty continuous to be a major setback in the experiences of different West African communities. Using examples from Kayiras chapter, Saro-Wiwas article and the film Borom Sarret, reflect on how it is perceived and treated in these works. What are in your opinion some of the strategies people can adopt to alleviate their experiences of poverty in their everyday lives or works, such as in filmmaking.

Using chapters 5 to 10 of Things Fall Apart discuss how masculinities and order were understood and practiced in Umuofia. Draw examples from the wrestling match, Okonkwos relationship with his family, the relationship between elders, women, men and children in the community.
