Vulnerable or Special Population

Special populations are often hidden in plain sight within our communities inhabiting the margins of our society, each with a unique set of characteristics and needs. Some of the broad categories of special populations include:
1.The disabled (i.e., physical, cognitive, sensory) or chronically ill;
2.Persons with mental or substance abuse disorders;
3.Minorities, refugees and immigrants, and seasonal workers;
4.Women and men;
5.Age vulnerability (i.e., the elderly, children, and adolescents);
6.Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender;
7.and Persons who are homeless, victims of domestic violence, or involved in the criminal justice system.
8.Native American
9.Veterans
10.Rural Populations

You will need to use 3-5 current references to prepare Project #2. These references should be within the past 3 years. The references must be scholarly and pertinent to the topic you have selected. Remember that you need to cite each of the references within the body of your paper. The references should be included on a reference page with your paper. You will need to use APA citation with in text and reference sheet documentation.
