It could be about a memory in relation to your looks (such as how Serros focuses on the Indian nose of her narrator in relation to the picture day); alternatively, it could be about ANY memory. Choose something you can’t forget and show us why. Paint a specific picture in time. Don’t tell us, show us–use dialogue for your characters. Show us what happened as if we were there with you!

Expectations
I am not picky about what you want to write about nor do I expect a literary masterpiece! Have fun with this assignment, and know that I will be the only one who sees it unless you choose to share it with the class.

Requirements
Write at least 2 full pages (double-spaced on Word–then you’ll transfer it here); do not exceed 4 pages, please.
Use a lot of quotations or conversations so that you make the story come alive!
Be sure to use impeccable spelling, grammar, and punctuation so your reader can understand your work. However, use sentence fragments or interesting punctuation/spelling/grammar for stylistic purposes if it makes sense in your story. Remember, you want to make this story come alive!
Use first-person I
Tell some kind of story with a message.
Title your work with something creative! Perhaps wait until you are finished writing to think of it.

Tips
Since you are writing a story, not an essay, you need not use MLA formatin fact, you should not in this case.

Use spacing as it makes sense in your story. Do not hesitate to be creative with your spacing and anything else in this story since you are creating literature, not following academic rules here.
