Class: Understanding Negotiation and Conflict
In this assignment, work on developing the topic of entitlement in negotiation and conflict by synthesizing five elements:

Our own real-world experiences; (Please use and imagine being a school board member and another person being the employee that has been at the district the longest(30 years). He tries to run each negotiation. )

The Getting to Excess article provides an initial set of jargon and findings to aid us with shared terminology and a few basic starting points;

Share a story of a conflict or a negotiation in which you or the other party experienced and enacted entitlement. Remember to look for entitlement as I discussed it in the overview and as it is articulated in the article. Not every demand or expectation is an entitlement, and if we lump them all together, we will undermine our core task of sharpening our understanding about this topic.
Discuss the story using the terminology offered in my overview and in the Getting to Excess article, doing your best to pinpoint the nature of the entitlement, its expression, its impact on the on the counterparty in the moment and on the negotiation/conflict as a whole.
Apply at least two other concepts from across our course material in analyzing the situation. Note: dont just generally apply two other concepts to the story. Rather, these concepts need to tie into the core areas of entitlement in your discussion, highlighting ways in which entitlement elements interact with other concepts.
Reflect on what interests you about entitlement in its conflict context, and/or pose a question to the group about this, and/or or propose an area of conflict/negotiation research that you feel would benefit from deeper understanding of this area.

Apply at least two concepts from across our course material in analyzing the situation (other than those applied by the original poster).. Apply two concepts from previous courses, previous studies, or independent research. (other than those applied by the original poster).. Note: dont just generally apply two other concepts to the story. Rather, these concepts need to tie into the core areas of entitlement in your discussion, highlighting ways in which entitlement elements interact with other concepts.
